oّcazion is an Egyptian mobile application that shows its users sales nearby, both current and upcoming, to their fingertips. The brand name comes from the Arabic word, أوكازيون, which means “sale”. The word originally comes from the French term, occasion, meaning a chance or an opportunity. The w-like symbol suspended over the letter c is widely known among the Arab community as a shadda. It is an Arabic diacritic used to make consonants long giving them a double letter effect (cc in this case).

When designing the brand identity, we proposed to give ocazion an elegant and modern feel. Our inspiration emerged from the latest fashion culture growing all around. We embraced that by using a classical serif font, Bodoni, and by keeping the colors to a bare minimum of black and white.
